Chaney Kwak appears in conversation with the legendary Daniel Handler (aka Lemony Snicket) to discuss The Passenger at Green Apple Books in San Francisco. Handler is the author of seven novels, including Bottle Grove.

In a starred reviewForeword Reviews writes “The Passenger, with its bare-bones honesty and dry, cynical humor, reveals that when all is said and done, it’s the little things that matter: small acts of courage and kindness, words of love, and gratitude for the gift of another day.”

Simon Van Booy in conversation with Billy O’Callaghan

Tuesday, June 8 | 7:00 p.m. (EST)

Hosted ONLINE by Carmichael’s Bookstore

Simon Van Booy discusses his new novel, Night Came with Many Stars, in conversation with acclaimed Irish author Billy O’Callaghan.

In a rave for Night Came with Many Stars, Kirkus Reviews writes “Cycles of racism, violence, and misogyny are disrupted by the grace-filled actions of friends, relatives, and strangers…This well-crafted and often serendipitous saga recognizes that family cannot be escaped but can be expanded.”

Billy O’Callaghan is the author of four short story collections, most recently The Boatman, as well as three novels, including the new release Life Sentences (Jonathan Cape, UK). John Banville calls O’Callaghan “A master of the short story,” and Edna O’Brien says he is “a welcome voice to the pantheon of new Irish writing.”
