Submissions Policy Please note that Godine is a small house and we must be unusually selective as to the books we publish. Authors and illustrators should note that Godine does not accept unsolicited manuscripts, portfolios, or proposals. Anyone wishing to have work considered for publication is advised to contact us through an agent or artist's representative. Any unsolicited material that is not accompanied by a self-addressed envelope and return postage will not be returned to the sender. David R. Godine, Publisher, accepts no responsibility for unsolicited materials. All unsolicited material that is not returned to the sender will be disposed after 3 months. Please do not telephone the office and please do not submit anything by e-mail. Rights Information Please direct all inquiries about subsidary rights or royalties to Sue Berger Ramin at sue@godine.com. Inquiries about permissions can be directed to Kristin Brodeur at kbrodeur@godine.com. Contact information for freelancers If you would like to offer your freelance services in copyediting, proofreading, or indexing, please send a cover letter and a resume to the Editorial staff at the Boston address. Please note that we require a minimum of five years editorial experience for consideration. The majority of our design and production is executed in house, and most of the work we send out of house goes to people who are familiar with our design standards. Designers who would like to be considered for freelance work should send a cover letter and resume with a sample (non-returnable) of their work to our Production Department.
