David Morowitz was born in Chicago and educated at the University of Illinois. He discovered the writing of Joseph Wechsberg while in medical school, and found it a rich, life-enhancing treasure. Morowitz is a full-time gastrointestinal radiologist in Washington, D.C. and a part-time photographer and writer. He lives with his wife and two children in Bethseda, Maryland.
